Waste electrical and electronic equipment
WEEE is the fastest growing waste stream in the UK. The Directive aims to reduce the amount of WEEE being produced and encourages everyone to reuse, recycle and recover it.
Businesses have a variety of responsibilities when they produce waste. These include complying with the requirements of the duty of care, The WEEE Regulations have introduced new responsibilities for businesses and other non-household users of electrical and electronic equipment.
This includes businesses from SME’s and Multinationals, hospitals, schools and government organisations, when they dispose of their electrical waste. These organizations need to ensure that all separately collected WEEE is treated and recycled.
